Okay, so this is a little tongue in cheek. But, about three blocks away there is a lady who is always a bit on the grumpy side. She complains about everything… and I do mean everything.
Well, this morning the usual ten of us who go for an early morning walk were on the uphill slope. As we passed Mrs. Grumpy’s she made her way to the post box in front of her house. Perhaps, she was thinking she had a majority of neighbors corralled so she decided to make a statement!
She named an 83 year old man who walks his Jack Russell every morning, then announced that his “dawg” had pooped between the sidewalk in front of her house and the road. Well, okay. No one is in favor of dog poop. But, in our neighborhood lots of neighbors have small dogs that will occasionally pee or poop while on a walk. Anyway, Mrs. Grumpy had seen the Jack Russell and the older gentleman out on their morning walk and when the dog stopped to smell and then pooped… a very tiny poop… Mrs. Grumpy called the police.
So much for the morning walk. The group of ten continued along our path, ignoring the rants and raves of Mrs. Grumpy. For a few steps, no one spoke. Then, Happy could contain herself no longer. “God! I love Mrs. Grumpy!”
We all stopped and turned to look at Happy. She continued, “She makes all of us look so good!”
You know, it really isn’t fair to compare ourselves to others. It isn’t fair to us or to them. But, for today I’m going to say that I am thankful for Mrs. Grumpy. She does make most of the neighbors look really good.

That’s a really good attitude to have. I must try to cultivate that some more.
