Okay, so some of you may not know about Max and Ruby. I had no idea who Max and Ruby are until the granddaughter came for a visit. She was holding a Max Beanie Baby. I guess Ruby stayed in the car, totally by accident — but, I didn’t see Ruby.
Anyway, yesterday my older son rang us up on Skype and while we were looking and talking to the baby my son held up Max. Max is the one in the bib overalls. My granddaughter started laughing and pointing at the bunny. Of course, we were all talking and laughing too as Mira pointed to the little white rabbit.
My son asked us to all be very quiet for a minute and watch. He picked up both Max and Ruby and held them in front of Mira. She pointed to Max and said, “grammy.” By the way, I am “grammy.” We all laughed, of course. And, I was thrilled that Mira had said my name — well, sort of.
Anyway, according to my son, one day the little one was holding Max and probably shaking the daylights out of him. He said he thought he heard her try to say something. So, he got closer and asked, “Who is this?” He was holding Max in front of Mira’s face. She pointed and giggled, “Grammy.”
Okay, so here’s the thing — the best we can figure. Mira associates bib overalls with “Grammy” and when she sees Max she now says my name. Isn’t that a hoot? I wonder who she thinks Ruby is.
I have to admit that my son admonished me that it was somewhat sad that the child, as young as she is, says “Grammy” every time she sees bib overalls. He’s a little bit “proper” sometimes and I’m sure he would prefer the child to associate Ruby with her grandmother. But, hey! Get over it! I don’t mind her associating me with bib overalls. However, I am concerned that she sees me as a rabbit.
Oh, well. My name has been spoken. That’s enough for me. Today, I am most thankful for Max and his bib overalls. In fact, I just ordered a Max for each of the Easter baskets I’m making this year.

well, when my grandson, 1 year old, one day saw a lady wearing a furcoat, he shouted “vuff” as if she was a dog !:)) so small kids are doing what they are doing and neither grammies or parents can avoid that and that makes me very thankful !:) and I’m also thinking that my grandson is relating me to bibs and soon he will get his own ! that day day I will be a very proud granddaddy! lol from a very busy Niels, who only survive due to my overalls !
How wonderful, Grammie! Love, Laury
