If we listen, sometimes we hear someone say something that will make us smile. Those little blips usually stay with us throughout the day. I guess that’s my thing today. I was a little tired this morning, slow getting started after a big weekend on the beach. Yeah, there is something about salt air that makes me lazy and causes me to sleep like a baby at night.
Anyway, I was sipping coffee and watching the view with my husband today. We had decided to tune in to see Johnny Galecki who was a guest. For those who are not familiar with Johnny Galecki, he plays Leonard on “The Big Bang Theory.” My husband is no fan of sitcoms unless they are Britcoms and that took lots of conditioning. Anyway, we are both huge fans of what we refer to as “Bang.” Today “Leonard” was on The View.
Okay, so there wasn’t much of interest about the interview. He was more or less doing his obligatory interviews to promote the show or whatever. Anyway, one of the ladies — maybe Whoopi — mentioned the rumors that had circulated about him being gay. There was a statement that he is straight but had never defended himself against the rumors of being gay. Why? Galecki’s response was one of those little quips that makes a smile come across the face.
I can’t quote it verbatim, but it was something like ‘I don’t see any reason to defend myself against something I don’t find offensive.’ Doesn’t that just say it all?
When the show was over, I mentioned to my husband that the little statement made me smile. But, at the same time he was telling me the same thing.
Of course, there are so many things to be thankful for each and everyday that perhaps this one seems a little insignificant to some. But, for me today, I have smiled every time I have thought of it. That’s something to be thankful for.
