Okay, there is no horn blowing here. But, I am thankful it is time for everyone to go home. I will miss everyone once they are gone, but that’s okay. Sometimes it is good to miss people.
Christmas went off without a hitch. Everyone arrived on time — or pretty close. Everyone is leaving on schedule — or pretty close. We enjoyed ten days of family and fun, food and drink, shopping and returning stuff we bought. Money is still the best gift. No one ever returns it.
So, for ten days we have had a great time. And….as a dear friend told me years and years ago, “Enough is enough, even if it’s chocolate candy.” Well, I have enjoyed enough of everything, including chocolate candy and family.
Santa was good to all of us, especially the granddaughter. I’m not sure she “gets it” yet. She is just a year old. She cried when she saw Santa but all kids do that, don’t they? Santa is kind of like clowns. Kids always want to see both but scream and cry like crazy when they do.
Well, tomorrow morning the last of the family will be leaving. As much as I enjoyed them I am so thankful it is time for them to go home. After all we got our Christmas presents. One of the best was the announcement that I will become a grandmother for the second time in May. Can’t ask for much better than that!
